Established in 2021, Terracon’s Wilmington office was built with a clear purpose: delivering high‑quality consulting services while creating a culture where people and clients come first.
What began as a two-person team has grown into more than 20 professionals providing geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and related services across coastal North Carolina. We combine local knowledge, technical expertise, and the resources of a national firm to help clients make informed decisions, manage risk, and keep projects moving from site selection through construction.
Our team works on projects that help shape southeastern North Carolina’s continued growth, from student housing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington to large distribution and industrial facilities and critical public infrastructure such as the New Hanover County landfill. Whether supporting commercial development, industrial expansion, or community-serving facilities, we help clients understand site conditions, manage risk, and make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Built from the ground up by a small entrepreneurial team, the office has grown while maintaining the collaborative, people-first approach that shaped its early success. We pride ourselves on taking ownership of every assignment, being easy to work with, and getting things done safely.
We are equally invested in the Wilmington community. Team members actively participate in professional and civic organizations including ASCE, the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, and Green Drinks. Additionally, our employees volunteer with organizations such as New Hanover County Schools Reading Buddies, youth athletics and educational programs, housing and community development organizations, and local boards and nonprofits.
