In 2008, Terracon partnered with Greater Horizons, a charitable foundation based in Kansas City, Missouri, to establish a corporate philanthropy initiative, the Terracon Foundation. The Foundation has since expanded and now includes a formal focus on education and the built and natural environment. In that context, the goal is to reach out and become a real part of the lives of our employees and the communities we serve.
The Terracon Foundation gives in the following ways:
The Foundation also supports natural disaster relief efforts.
Terracon is pleased to share the stories and photos of those who have recently benefited from the Foundation. Be sure to share your favorites on social media.
The Terracon Foundation supports the philanthropic interests and contributions of employees. The program allows one $50 minimum/maximum match per year for each Terracon employee until the $50,000 budget is exhausted annually. Matching gift requests are processed in 7-10 business days from the date of submission. The status of a matching gift request can be seen on the Employee Giving site.
The Terracon Foundation supports national nonprofit organizations with a limited number of substantial grants. The grants will be a one-year strategic partnership grant, generally ranging from $20,000 to $50,000.
The Terracon Foundation considers National Partner Grants once per calendar year. The Foundation seeks nominations from individual employees as well as recommendations from Terracon’s leadership. Employees may use the link below to access the online nomination form and should create an online account to access the nomination. Upon creating an account, employees will be asked to complete a short nomination indicating why they would recommend the national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to be considered for funding.
Selected organizations will be asked to submit full proposals about eight weeks following the initial deadline. All nominations will be responded to by letter 12 to 14 weeks following the deadline. The organization receiving the grant award will complete a final report detailing the expenditures of the grant in the 10 months following the award. Failure to complete a final report results in disqualification from future grant consideration until the application period after the report has been received. Grants recieved through the Terracon Foundation may not be used to pay for Terracon services.
