Join us for the 2020 Chlorinated Conference May 31-June 4, 2020 Portland, Oregon Presentation Using 3D Modeling Technology to Build a Useful Conceptual Site Model and Design a Cost-Effective Remediation System The use of 3D data visualization technology continues to play an important role in environmental projects, especially at sites with complex geologic conditions and contaminant distributions. This proved to be the case at a large-scale environmental remediation project involving spills of trichloroethene (TCE) at a former auto parts manufacturer in central Indiana. The goal of the project was to create a detailed conceptual site model (CSM) depicting both the geology and distribution of subsurface TCE contamination, and to use the model to assist in the investigation, characterization, and remediation of the site.
