Our purpose to Explore Beyond the Surface calls us to use our expertise and innovative practices to help solve sustainability challenges and create positive social impacts, from supporting local communities to creating an inclusive work environment where employees feel valued. We believe that by prioritizing sustainability, we can deliver greater value to our clients, enhance our competitive edge, and contribute to healthier, more equitable communities.
In 2022 we formally aligned our program to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) framework. Our program is structured around three sustainability pillars of Environment, People, and Management, and we have prioritized the following four UNSDGs:
This alignment strengthens our path forward as we apply our technical expertise to support our own environmental stewardship and sustainability efforts, as well as those of our clients.
Taking action to reduce our own footprint and measure our performance is one way we demonstrate our commitment to sustainability excellence. This includes greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, project- and office-generated waste, and procuring sustainable fleet and real estate assets. Every day, we’re partnering with our employee-owners and our clients to meet these ongoing challenges.
Completed an Emissions Target Plan in 2023 and set a 15% revenue-based emissions intensity target, to be achieved over five years, following EPA GHG protocols.
Expanded program to recycle laboratory concrete testing materials and office recyclables.
