We have provided geotechnical and construction QA/QC for hangars, terminal buildings, people movers, and radar towers. We have also provided services for expanding and extending runways and access roads. We have extensive experience working inside and outside fenced areas on airport properties.
Our environmental services have included Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, environmental studies, regulatory compliance, spill prevention, and air and groundwater monitoring.
One of the emerging challenges facing airports is the presence and management of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), a group of chemicals that are widely used in firefighting foams, surface coatings, and other industrial and consumer products. Our PFAS source differentiation methods, developed for the Airport Cooperative Research Program, help airports identify and manage PFAS impacts from legacy Aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) activities. Terracon can help you identify, assess, and mitigate PFAS impacts at your airport using our innovative methods and subject matter experts with extensive experience in this field.
