Funding to support recovery efforts for local communities

OLATHE, Kan. — The Terracon Foundation has awarded two $2,500 grants to support recovery efforts after catastrophic flash flooding devastated the Texas Hill Country on July 4, 2025. The floods caused the Guadalupe River to surge dramatically, resulting in widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. Over 100 lives were lost, including many children.

Local community relief will be provided through two organizations: the Kerr County Flood Relief fund created by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and Sewa International.

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the devastating recent floods in Texas,” said Derek Koller, CIH, CHMM, chair of the Terracon Foundation and operations manager based in Tucson, Ariz. “Terracon and our employee-owners are honored to support relief efforts to help assist during recovery.”

The Terracon Foundation was established with a goal to reach out and become a real part of the lives of Terracon employees and the communities where they live and work. Established as the community investment arm of Terracon, the foundation has granted more than $5 million to community organizations, universities, dependents of employees, and disaster relief efforts.

Terracon is an employee-owned engineering consulting firm with more than 7,000 employees providing environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials services from more than 180 locations with services in all 50 states. In 2025, we celebrate Terracon’s 60th anniversary with gratitude to our employee-owners and clients and excitement for the future as Our Adventure Continues.
