Terracon conducts assessments and investigations ranging from ASTM Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) to limited site or extensive subsurface investigations, complete with field service capability and a diverse staff of professionals. To support quality field efforts, Terracon owns and operates some of the most advanced technological equipment available (mobile Geoprobes, vapor analyzers, geophysical instrumentation, etc.) plus a fleet of truck and track mounted drill rigs and remedial service trucks.

Many of Terracon’s industrial and corporate clients, as well as our public agency clients, need to close and transfer properties that they own, or update existing resource management plans for those properties. Terracon’s ecologists and environmental scientists have the expertise and experience to prepare resource management plans and guide our clients through the associated regulatory processes. NEPA The requirements established under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) can present a formidable obstacle to development projects. Our experience has shown that a carefully considered review of environmental concerns can provide an effective framework for both development and conservation of natural resources. We have assisted clients with natural resource management through the performance of multi-disciplined analyses, planning and design projects. Wetlands Delineation Terracon also offers a full range of wetland services, ranging from the initial wetland determination to developing a wetland mitigation plan and submitting a permit application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). In order to achieve the project goals, we work closely with clients and the USACE to determine optimal use of the property, while taking into consideration existing wetlands and proposed mitigation areas.

The Cultural Resource Management staff has been a vital component of the Terracon service line since 2003. With specially trained staff in the areas of architectural and cultural history, as well as historic preservation, the Cultural Resource Management group can shepherd clients through the maze of federal and state regulations to achieve an outcome that bridges the preservation requirements of national law and the business needs of our clients. Our investigations have spanned the Southeastern United States in both rural and urban areas. Terracon’s IT Solutions Department has the expertise to design custom web-based applications that categorize, organize and schedule the seemingly endless tasks and deadlines required by environmental permits, regulations, or internal policies and procedures. Using such systems helps assure and maintain compliance while promoting lower cost and proactive environmental management. These cost savings translate directly into increased profits. These applications are developed to provide end-users with an easy-to-use interface to make data entry efficient and intuitive. Reports are generated in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format so that they can be easily printed, saved or e-mailed.
