Cardiovascular Stroke Center This project included the construction of a new Cardiovascular Stroke Center at the existing Memorial Health Systems of East Texas facility. The Patient Tower is four stories in height, and was constructed with the structural capacity to support three additional floors in the future. The project also included a heliopad which was constructed on the roof, pavements, and the expansion of the Central Plant. Geotechnical services consisted of drilling soil exploration borings to depths up to 100 feet, performing applicable geotechnical laboratory testing, and geotechnical analysis. The building was supported on more than 350 ACIP piles. Prior to installation of piles, Terracon provided observation of two pile load tests to verify recommendations. Construction materials engineering and testing services also included field moisture-density testing of select fill for the building pads, observations of spread footing installation at the Central Plant, reinforcing steel inspection, and concrete testing for all cast-in-place concrete. Structural steel observation was also performed.
