Terracon provided geotechnical engineering services for the Biosolids Treatment Facility constructed at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Nashville, Tennessee.
Terracon's geotechnical services included ten borings to auger refusal on apparent bedrock at depths of about 42.5 to 45.5 feet below existing grade and ten electronic piezo-cone penetrometer sounding (CPTU) tests that extended to depths of about 35 feet. Field testing also included vane shear and pressuremeter tests to evaluate the potential for shallow foundation support of various structures.
