The office quickly grew from 2 to 18 employees, including geologists, scientists, technicians and administrative personnel. Terracon provided asbestos inspection and air monitoring services prior to the demolition of the former Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) building located in downtown Lubbock. After the DPS staff were relocated to the Lubbock Business Park, the building was demolished in support of the City of Lubbock downtown redevelopment initiative.
Since 2009, Terracon has performed more than 30 asbestos related projects for TTUHSC from the main campus in Lubbock to the satellite campuses in Amarillo, Dallas, El Paso, Midland and Odessa. Projects have involved asbestos inspection, project planning, project budgeting, asbestos air monitoring services, and designed asbestos abatement plans for numerous academic and medical facility renovations. Working with the TTUHSC has provided Terracon the opportunity to deliver project excellence while working in and around world-class medical facilities as well as fully occupied academic buildings.
