The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino is a $1.5-billion, mega-resort located on the famous Las Vegas Strip. The first phase of The Venetian opened May 3, 1999, re-creating Venice's legendary landmarks. Terracon provided services on several projects at this property: - Geotechnical services on the Venetian Expansion, Phase 2C. The expansion is constructed on approximately 15 acres of land located behind the existing casino. - Micropile evaluation, analysis and assessment services for the Phantom Theatre $40-million, state-of-the-art facility housing the Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera. - Geotechnical engineering services during installation of the foundation systems for the renovation of the C2K Theatre. The project consisted of installing spread footing and micro pile foundations for support of the theatre renovation. - Observation and geotechnical engineering caisson inspection services. This project consisted of drilled cast in place piles. This foundation system supports the Central Utility Plant expansion.
