This $40.1 million project includes the reconstruction of a five-mile section of the US-285 corridor from Kipling Street to Federal Boulevard in the communities of Denver, Sheridan, and Lakewood, Colo. The project includes the reconstruction of three bridge structures and approximately 24 lane miles of new and rehabilitated pavements. Terracon provided geotechnical engineering studies and was selected by the client due to our value-engineering approach to the project, as well as our responsiveness during the pre-proposal effort. This is the fourth design-build project for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). CDOT anticipates that this project will be used as an example as to the effectiveness of the design-build process on projects of this size.
