Terracon provided construction materials observation and testing services on the North and South Residential Colleges (dormitories) constructed at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. The project included construction of two, four-story, 150,000 square foot structural framed buildings bearing on deep foundations (auger cast-in-place pilings). The project also included asphalt paved parking and drives and segmental retaining walls. Services included: observe and record auger cast pilings installation; proof-rolling observations; shallow foundation observations; nuclear density-compaction testing; laboratory testing and evaluation of soils; field and laboratory evaluation of concrete; field testing of hot mix bituminous pavement; post-tensioned cables installation observation and testing; reinforcement steel placement observation; field masonry observation and testing; structural steel and weld inspections; metal stud framing observations; and fire-proofing installation observation and testing.
