Southern LNG Elba Island TerminalGeolocation: 32.0835, -81.0998

This project won the Grand Award in 2006 ACEC/Georgia Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. Southern LNG Elba Island Terminal is the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in the US. WPC, A Terracon Company, was selected to provide geotechnical services on Phases II and III of the expansion, which included three new LNG storage tanks, containment walls, and process facilities. The facility is located on Elba Island to the east of downtown Savannah. Following the geotechnical investigation, WPC performed an instrumented pile load test program.
