Interstate 10 WideningGeolocation: 30.5694, -91.0969

Interstate 10 in Louisiana is being widened and Terracon provided services to the project including construction engineering inspections.

Interstate 10 is being widened from two lanes in each direction to three lanes in each direction with a 54-inch high center median single barrier or double barriers. Dual existing bridges over Wards Creek Diversion will also be widened. The bridge replacement is complicated by the extreme skew of the bridges to the Kansas City railroad track and the existence of a major high voltage electrical transmission line along the tracks with a pole located between the bridges that must remain in place. Terracon has been retained as the quality control firm for this Design-Build project under Boh Brothers Construction Co., LLC, providing certified engineering inspections during construction. Services performed to date have included preparation and upkeep of construction quality control plan, oversight of patching, and inspection of concrete placement.
