Interstate 73 will be a new highway that is planned to run from Michigan to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This study area was divided into two projects, a North and a South. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is in the process of developing Right-of-Way Plans for the Southern Section for approximately 43 miles. The project has been subdivided into three segments A, B, and C. Terracon was retained by the lead design/consulting firm to provide geotechnical services for segments A (18 miles) and C (15 miles). Terracon is the lead design geotechnical firm for segment A roadway ROW study and provides support geotechnical services for segment C. Our services include geotechnical program planning, soil borings, seismic CPT's, shear wave velocity measurements, flat plate dilatometer and downhole seismic testing laboratory testing, data analysis and reporting. Terracon also provided QA/QC review of Geotechnical Data Reports, Geotechnical Recommendations Reports, Drilling, and Site Specific Seismic Response Analysis Reports for all three segments.
