Terracon's Longmont office provided services for an eight-month Colorado Department of Transportation Highway 66 whitetopping project. It consisted of the grinding of existing asphalt pavements, widening the roadway, the construction of new medians, and concrete overlayment of approximately 7.5 miles of roadway. Terracon provided observations and construction materials engineering and testing services during construction, which included field and laboratory testing of concrete and asphalt, providing concrete mix designs, and testing approximately 90 sets of beams for flexural strength.
