Growing Company Selects Leader for the Future
OLATHE, Kan. — Terracon is pleased to announce M. Gayle Packer is now chief executive officer and president of Terracon Consultants, Inc. This completes a deliberate, multiyear CEO succession process, and follows her appointment as president in June 2018.
Packer was unanimously approved to serve in the joint role as chief executive officer (CEO) and president by Terracon’s Board of Directors at its Jan. 10 meeting. She succeeds David Gaboury, P.E., who served in both capacities for more than 16 years and most recently as CEO. Gaboury continues as Terracon’s chairman through 2021.
“Our talented and dedicated employee-owners work hard every day to serve our clients’ needs and positively impact our communities,” Packer said. “It is a privilege to be a part of such a great company and I am excited to continue our journey together to become even more innovative and better as we grow.”
Since joining Terracon in 2004, Packer has been highly successful in roles of progressive responsibility within the company. She has gained superior knowledge of Terracon’s corporate functions and national network of offices, serving as a member of the Executive Committee since 2007 and Board of Directors since 2011. Throughout her career at Terracon, she has served as contracts manager, general counsel, director of corporate services, and prior to being named president, executive vice president and chief administrative officer (CAO). As CAO, Packer coordinated the acquisition and integration of more than 50 companies, 100 offices and 2,000 employees.
“Gayle’s track record of success at Terracon makes her uniquely qualified to lead the firm going forward,” Gaboury said. “She is well aligned with our history, values and long-term prosperous growth strategies, which will provide continuity, and she will bring her perspective and fresh approach to our continued success.”
Terracon is an employee-owned engineering consulting firm with more than 5,000 employees providing environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services from more than 150 offices with services available in all 50 states. Terracon currently ranks 24th on Engineering News-Record’s list of Top 500 Design Firms.
