OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Terracon Foundation recently awarded a community grant in the amount of $3,500 to the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma.

The grant will be used to obtain rental space, training materials, speakers, educational materials, registration systems, and student communications for the Building Better Neighborhoods training sessions. Building Better Neighborhoods is a series of 25 educational workshops annually, impacting thousands of citizens in the community by giving them the tools and support to affect place-based change in their own neighborhoods.

The Terracon Foundation community grant supports local, nonprofit programs with active engagement of Terracon employees in communities where they live and work.

Neighborhood Alliance of Oklahoma City’s mission is to educate citizens, enabling them to create sustainable change through educational and support programs. The training and connections allow neighborhood leaders to work alongside police, fire, school administrators, city officials, corporations, nonprofits, and foundations to create safer, more beautiful, and healthier neighborhoods in Oklahoma. The organization aims to empower and educate citizens to become neighborhood leaders.

Benjamin Olszewski, from Terracon’s Oklahoma City office, is involved with the organization and championed the grant. Georgie Rasco, executive director of Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma, proudly accepted the award.

“The Terracon Foundation’s support helps citizens of Oklahoma City make their neighborhoods more than a community, but a place to call home,” said Rasco.

The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 and expanded considerably in 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities. The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and employee-dependent scholarships.
