Making Wishes Come True in Texas

IMG_1077Terracon’s Dallas and Fort Worth offices together donated more than $6,000 to Make-A-Wish of North Texas. The donation was made up of proceeds from the Annual Client Appreciation Golf Tournament that was held in June along with other fundraising efforts.

The mission of Make-A-Wish® is to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”

According to Drew Landis in Dallas, who chaired the golf tournament this year, Make-A-Wish has been the charity of choice for both offices since 2008. At that time, they noticed a lot of clients donating to the organization and decided to help with the cause.

“Make-A-Wish is very gracious and an amazing group of folks to work with,” Drew said. “It’s always really special to learn what wish was granted to a deserving child and how our donations were used.”

Drew added that employees take part in several fund drives during the year and also attend “Wish Night,” which is the big annual fundraising event. In addition, Dallas and Fort Worth raise money for the charity through what they call “Jeans Days,” where staff can choose to wear jeans on Fridays but first they have to donate to the charity.

Terracon employees also serve on committees for the organization that coordinate prizes, event registration, signage, photographs, and other assignments. All of the time and attention does not go unnoticed.

“Both of our offices fully support this endeavor,” Drew said. “It just doesn’t happen without the help and support of our Terracon folks and awesome sponsors.”
