PORTLAND, Ore. — The Terracon Foundation recently awarded a university grant in the amount of $2,500 to Oregon State University (OSU) in support of graduate scholarships for the OSU Geotechnical Group.
The Terracon Foundation university grant supports graduate-level scholarships, fellowships, purchase of equipment, and similar programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, based on employee recommendations.
Eric Lim, P.E., G.E., from Terracon’s Portland office, championed the grant. Scott Ashford, Ph.D., P.E., head of the School of Civil and Construction Engineering, proudly accepted the award.
“This type of support for graduate students is really hard to come by, so we are very appreciative,” said Dr. Ashford.
The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 and expanded considerably last year to provide a broader range of grant opportunities. The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, community grants, and employee dependent scholarships.
