FARGO, N.D. – The Terracon Foundation awarded local student, Steven Schmidt, a scholarship to assist him with his first year at North Dakota State University, majoring in Construction Management.
The Terracon Foundation provides the children and dependents of Terracon employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance. The foundation presents scholarship awards up to $2,000 per student with total scholarship awards up to $25,000.
Schmidt is the son of Terracon employee, Rodger Schmidt, who is a construction materials technician in Terracon’s Fargo, N.D., office. Schmidt said that he is proud of his son and thankful to the foundation that provides opportunities for employee families.
“I am very proud of Steven and all he has accomplished to this point,” Schmidt said. “I would like to thank Terracon for the support of employees’ families by offering these scholarships.”
The younger Schmidt also thanked the foundation for the scholarship.
“I would like to thank Terracon for acknowledging all the hard work I have done through my years in high school by offering me this scholarship,” Schmidt said. “I am excited to be starting a new chapter in my life and their support is greatly appreciated.”
The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 with a goal of investing more in the community. The program expanded considerably during 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities throughout the country. In addition to employee dependent scholarships, The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and community grants.
