PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Terracon Foundation awarded Alyssa Foley a scholarship to assist her in completing a nursing degree at University of Maine at Fort Kent and Northern Maine Community College.

The Terracon Foundation provides the children and dependents of Terracon employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance. The foundation presents scholarship awards up to $2,000 per student with total scholarship awards up to $25,000.

Foley is a daughter of Terracon employee, Nicole Foley, who is an administrative assistant for the Environmental and Geotechnical Departments in the San Antonio, Texas, office.  Foley expressed her thanks for the grant and pride in her daughter.

“This grant awarded by the Terracon Foundation is very much appreciated and will go far in helping to pay for Nursing School,” Foley said. “I am extremely proud of Alyssa and all that she has accomplished thus far and I know she will make a great nurse.”

The younger Foley also expressed gratitude to the Terracon Foundation for helping her to complete her nursing degree, which she has been working on for three years.

“Terracon has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to help out with pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree,” Foley said. “I’ve worked hard over the past three years in order to achieve a childhood dream and I can’t thank the Terracon Foundation enough for giving me an award such as this to help me in accomplishing this goal.”

The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 with a goal of investing more in the community.  The program expanded considerably during 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities throughout the country. In addition to employee dependent scholarships, The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and community grants.
