PARKERSBURG, Iowa – The Terracon Foundation awarded Landon Cleary a scholarship to begin his studies of civil engineering at Iowa State University this fall.
The Terracon Foundation provides the children and dependents of Terracon employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance. The foundation presents scholarship awards up to $2,000 per student with total scholarship awards up to $25,000.
Cleary is the son of Terracon employee, Dave Cleary, who is a department manager in the Cedar Falls, Iowa, office. Cleary said that his son is an ideal candidate for the scholarship for various reasons.
“Landon is a great candidate for the Terracon Foundation scholarship,” Cleary said. “He applies himself well in school, sports, church and any activity he is involved with. He is very reliable and has a great work ethic and always willing to assist others.”
The younger Cleary thanked the foundation for the scholarship.
“I would like to thank The Terracon Foundation for the scholarship,” Cleary said. “I will be a freshman this fall at Iowa State University and studying Civil Engineering.”
The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 with a goal of investing more in the community. The program expanded considerably during 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities throughout the country. In addition to employee dependent scholarships, The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and community grants.
