Terracon Offices Affected by Iowa Flooding

The damage of the recent storms and flooding in Iowa hit close to home for Terracon. Founded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Terracon operates eight offices in Iowa. Locations include Ames, Bettendorf, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Iowa City, Sioux City, and Storm Lake all were affected to some degree.

The National Weather Service called the flooding in Cedar Rapids a “historic hydrologic event” as the river over-topped its banks at 500-year flood levels, forcing the evacuation of thousands of homes. According to flood2008.iowa.gov, 86 counties are covered under the Governor’s Disaster Proclamation which activates Iowa’s individual disaster assistance program to help recover from flood damage.

As a result of concern for Iowa employees and offices, Terracon facilitated an effort to get funds quickly and responsibly where they would do the greatest good. Terracon made a Corporate contribution to the Lincoln Savings Bank Foundation for Iowa disaster relief, and employees contributed individual donations that were matched by Terracon. The Lincoln Savings Bank Foundation will distribute 100 percent of the funds directly to affected people and organizations in the community.
