University of Missouri St. Louis Benton Stadler Science Complex AdditionGeolocation: 38.9432, -92.3327

Terracon was retained by the curators of University of Missouri-St. Louis to provide construction materials testing and structural steel inspections. The project consisted of a four-story building including a walk out basement with a footprint area of approximately 18,750 square feet and a total of 75,000 square feet.  Construction consisted of rammed aggregate piers foundations, steel framing, reinforced masonry and the site grading involved cuts of up to 10 feet. Materials testing services included compaction testing of the sub grade and select fill, observation of drilled piers, foundation installation and inspection of welded, and bolted connection for structural steel framing. In addition, Terracon performed testing on concrete for all cast-in-place concrete, asphalt pavement, and concrete pavement. Geotechnical services consisted of providing information and geotechnical engineering recommendations relative to:          Subsurface Soil Conditions          Groundwater Conditions          Soils Recommendations Terracon proved to be responsive to both the client and contractor’s needs. The client selected Terracon for this project based on its experience and the positive working relationship with the firm.
