With the help of a Community Block Development Grant, the City of Tombstone is undertaking a historic restoration and preservation of the historic Tombstone City Hall. The “Old City Hall” had been in continuous service for Mayors, Marshals, and official city offices from 1882 until 2009, when it fell into disrepair and was vacated. Following renovations and reconditioning, the building will provide new space for the Marshal’s office and additional meeting space for the community. Terracon conducted a Phase I ESA and a Hazardous Materials Survey under contract with the ADEQ Brownfields program and the City of Tombstone, Arizona. Terracon conducted subsequent oversight and clearance testing during abatement and remediation of asbestos, lead paint, mold, and guano from the building.
