Terracon provided geotechnical engineering as well as construction materials testing for the 13,800 square-foot addition. The addition consists of classrooms, labs, support spaces and offices, primarily for the college's Nursing and Science programs. The interior renovation reconfigured walls and doors for the Science, Physical Therapy, EMS and Health Science Technology programs. The foundation system consists of spread footing with grade beam construction and the floors are concrete slab on grade. Terracon provided geotechnical engineering recommendations and construction observations for utility installation, sitework, and retaining walls for the parking lot and detention pond. The project earned the Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for its "green" construction.
