Science Wing and Auditorium The project included a new science wing, auditorium, and trades building at the Lufkin Independent School District High School. The science wing is 13,000 square feet in size, the auditorium is 26,000 square feet in size, and the trades building is 3,000 square feet in size. Geotechnical services consisted of drilling soil exploration borings, performing applicable geotechnical laboratory testing, and geotechnical analysis. A final report was provided which included recommendations for site and sub-grade preparation, select fill pads, and shallow spread footing foundations. Construction materials engineering and testing services included field moisture-density testing of select fill for the building pads, observations of spread footing installation, reinforcing steel in-spection, and concrete testing for all cast-in-place concrete. Structural steel observation was also performed.
