WPC, A Terracon Company (WPC) has provided services since 2000 for the airport. The first phase of the terminal expansion project included a six level, 2,400-space parking garage structure along with vehicle and pedestrian circulation improvements including new roadways, elevated walkways, and moving sidewalks. WPC engineers provided foundation inspection, laboratory testing and ongoing geotechnical consultation services in support of our initial geotechnical design effort for the facility. The second phase consisted of the terminal expansion in 2001, which included the widening of the existing irregularly shaped terminal building along the western curved section of the building and the southern and northern sections of the existing building. WPC provided subsurface exploration, engineering consulting, laboratory testing and construction materials testing and inspection services. Phase three consisted of a Centralized Security Checkpoint Expansion. WPC provided subsurface exploration, engineering consulting, laboratory testing and construction materials testing and inspection services. After the completion of the project, JIA is now recognized as one of the safest airport in the country.
