Terracon served as the geotechnical consultant for the U.S. portion of the Express Pipeline project, a $380 million, 512-mile long, 24-inch pipeline and associated pumping stations originating in Alberta, Canada, and traversing Montana and Wyoming. Terracon's services included geologic and hydrogeologic studies, routing assistance, environmental permitting and negotiations, geotechnical field investigations and evaluations for horizontal directional drilling of major river crossing, lateral and bed scour analyses, rock excavation evaluations and review of blasting plans, and construction materials engineering and testing and geotechnical support. Terracon continues to provide geotechnical and environmental engineering services for various maintenance and operational issues.
