The 131,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art hospital was designed to replace CRMC's current facility which was built in 1967. The new 79-bed hospital included space for many important medical services, including a modern emergency department, surgical suites, and a women's services unit. The building will also feature an energy efficient design that incorporates a geothermal heating and cooling system. Geotechnical services provided by Terracon included conventional drilling and geophysical mapping of shallow bedrock utilizing seismic techniques, evaluation of seismic site class conditions, classification and laboratory testing of site soils and rock, and engineering evaluation for foundation design and site development activities. Special Inspection services included observation and testing for earthwork, foundations, concrete, structural steel, and spray-applied fireproofing materials.
