Liesch, A Terracon Company, is a full service environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering firm that started in 1968 in Plymouth, MN. In 2011 they expanded their office reach to downtown St. Paul which allows access to current and future clients. Liesch works closely with the St. Paul Port Authority, the City of St. Paul, and other east metro clients on many projects in St. Paul and surrounding areas. Liesch has provided geotechnical and environmental services in the St. Paul area including environmental investigation and abatement, landfill remedial investigation, asbestos management and more for a variety of projects.

In 2000, Liesch was retained by the County to prepare construction bid documents, administer bids and document/certify construction of a 6-acre cover system at the Landfill. The cover system included a 6-inch grading/buffer layer, installation of a 40-mil HDPE geomembrane, 18 inches of general fill and 6-inches of topsoil. In addition to the cover system, construction also included the installation of deep landfill gas wells, a surficial landfill gas venting system and a surface water drainage system consisting of berming, rip-rap swales and ditching. Liesch Associates, Inc. was retained by the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation (Wilder) to perform investigation and cleanup work at one of its properties. The property is occupied by an 11-story high-rise building for low income housing. The building was occupied by residents throughout the investigation and cleanup work. As part of an effort to sell the property, a potential buyer notified Wilder of potential contamination issues associated with a former dump.
