
Terracon was selected to provide construction materials engineering and testing services for the Pioneer1 Natural Gas Plant in Opal, Wyo.
The Rock Springs office has been a center for delivering engineering services to our clients since April of 2005. Our professionals and field staff routinely work on projects throughout Southwest Wyoming, Northwest Colorado, and Eastern Utah. Integrated into the North Rocky Mountain Region, this office routinely performs as a project center, providing construction materials engineering and testing, geotechnical, and environmental services. We have established strong relationships with the Wyoming Department of Transportation, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Federal Aviation Administration, City of Rock Springs, Sweetwater County, as well as local contractors, developers, architects, and civil engineers. The Rock Springs Construction Materials Laboratory is an AASHTO-accredited laboratory.

PacifiCorp's Naughton Power Plant, located four miles southwest of Kemmerer, Wyo., is one of the largest coal-fueled plants in the Rockies, producing 707,000 kW. Terracon was selected to provide a geotechnical engineering study, as well as construction materials engineering and testing services, for the Flue Gas Desulphurization Unit (FGD) retro-fit to the plant.

Pioneer 1 Natural Gas Plant is a "sweet gas" plant that can process 750 million cubic feet per day of natural gas. Enterprise Products constructed the plant to boost the capacity of the Jonah Field gas gathering system. In addition, the plant was constructed to complement an adjacent silica gel processing facility.
