In 2004, the City of Lincoln began evaluating the replacement of Harris Overpass located in the Haymarket area of downtown Lincoln. Terracon was retained to perform geotechnical and environmental services for the bridge currently being constructed.
At the initial phase of the project, Terracon conducted environmental sampling and analysis of soils in conjunction with a geotechnical exploration for the proposed bridge overpass in order to assess for chemical contaminant impact to soil at the proposed pier locations. The geotechnical exploration was conducted to provide…

Terracon was retained by the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to perform geotechnical engineering services for the $21-million, 74,000 square-foot Ken Morrison Life Sciences Research Center on East Campus in Lincoln, Neb.
The geotechnical exploration included general subsurface conditions encountered in the borings, the analysis and evaluation of test data, and recommendations regarding the design and construction of foundations and related site development.
The geotechnical investigation indicated varying depths of existing fill underlain by lean to fat clay and glacial…

In 2003, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) began a $40-million renovation of the north end of Memorial Stadium. Terracon was retained by the UNL to perform geotechnical, construction materials engineering and testing, and IBC Special Inspection services for the project.
Terracon's services included extensive subsurface investigations using both conventional soil borings and advanced in-situ cone penetrometer soundings, analysis and evaluation of test data, and geotechnical engineering recommendations regarding the design and construction of foundations and related site…
