
Established in 1975, Midwest Testing Laboratory (Midwest Testing) has provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials engineering and testing services on a wide variety of projects in the upper Midwest, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana. Midwest Testing was acquired by Terracon in 2010 to enhance our services in North Dakota and surrounding states. Midwest Testing specializes in projects such as flood control, bridges and overpasses, high-rise and large commercial buildings, retail developments, roads and runways and slope stability. Midwest Testing offers geotechnical engineering services, specifically drilling, sampling, installations and laboratory services. Midwest Testing also offers construction materials testing services including concrete engineering, hot mix asphalt, roofing and soils testing.

Midwest Testing Laboratory, A Terracon Company (Midwest Testing) provided geotechnical soil investigation, construction materials testing of plastic concrete, compression and flexural strength, shrinkage tests of concrete, soil compactions and aggregate gradations for the County Road 20 lift station. The cost of this project was $12 Million and contained 4,000 cubic yards of concrete. An extensive earth retention system was provided for 43 foot excavation in soft fat clay deposits.

Midwest Testing Laboratory, A Terracon Company (Midwest Testing) provided geotechnical soil investigation reports, compaction testing and moisture-density relations, mechanical analysis of aggregates, tests of plastic concrete, compression and flexural strength tests, and concrete thickness coring for the improvement district 5700. This project cost $14.5 million. Midwest Testing provided these services for 31,000 cubic yards of concrete, throughout six to seven days per week for seven months.
