In Nov. 1999, a Record of Decision was approved to dispose of CERCLA wastes at the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR). The selected remedy included the construction of an engineered waste disposal facility, the EMWMF, located in the ORR East Bear Creek Valley Watershed.
