Terracon and GEG Join Together to Expand Services in Colorado

OLATHE, Kan. — Terracon Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Geotechnical Engineering Group (GEG), a firm providing geotechnical, environmental and construction materials engineering and testing services. GEG is headquartered in Grand Junction, Colo., with an additional office in Montrose. Terracon is one of the nation’s largest employee-owned engineering consulting firms with headquarters in Olathe, Kan.

“With Terracon’s seven existing offices in Colorado, joining with GEG allows Terracon to expand services to the western part of the state,” said David Gaboury, P.E., president and CEO of Terracon. “GEG has an excellent reputation, and we are excited to join forces.”

Established in 1997, GEG is experienced with design and construction in the challenging and variable geology of Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. GEG has completed numerous local high profile projects including Mesa County Justice Center, Mesa County Jail, Grand Junction City Hall, Riverside Parkway and the 30 Road Underpass.

“GEG has a high level of technical expertise and specialized experience, providing our clients with effective and practical solutions,” said John Withers, P.E., GEG principal engineer. “With our experience, and the significantly greater resources of Terracon, we will be well positioned to help our valued clients meet their goals.”

Terracon is retaining GEG’s employees. GEG will continue operating under the same name.

Terracon is an employee-owned engineering consulting firm with more than 2,700 employees providing geotechnical, environmental, construction materials and facilities services from more than 100 offices in 39 states nationwide.
