News Briefs Spring '10

The Excellence in Construction Awards, presented by the Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., awarded Gallet & Associates, a Terracon Company, a Merit Award for the Powertrain Flexible Maintenance Facility Project in Anniston, AL. Excellence in Construction is a program that began 20 years ago and has grown to become a premier competition within the construction industry that recognizes outstanding construction projects by Alabama contractors.


Jeremy Jeffers, AIA, CSI, of the Boise office, received the 2009 Chapter Distinguished Service Award from the Idaho Chapter Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). The award is presented to an individual who has rendered distinguished long-term service which has resulted in important and vital contributions to the Idaho Chapter CSI in the advancement of its objectives and administration. CSI is a national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents, communication, and project delivery. In addition, the Boise office received the 2009 Chapter Organizational Certificate of Appreciation, presented to an organization, firm, or association that has provided significant service to the Idaho Chapter CSI.


Terracon’s Atlanta, office was awarded an expedited portfolio of Phase I ESAs at 196 telecommunication tower sites that a confidential client intends to purchase in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Assessor teams were dispatched from our Atlanta, Nashville, Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Charleston, WV, offices. A complete portfolio spreadsheet of site details was delivered in 10 days. Phase II limited site assessment tasks at 22 of the sites were also completed.
